Let's try not to pannick

There haven't been good U.S. presidents. Their measure of success has always depended on the existance of trying circunstances, and how they have handled them. Thus, it is their reactions to wars, deep crisis or social conflicts what have turned the tide of global opinion towards their mandate being good or bad. In this way, being US president during a World War has been an opportunity for them to become eternal, as the american war machine turns, inevitably, on its own. On the contrary, being the president of the US on peace times is nothing short of a suicidal challenge. The absence of conflicts needed of management, either domestic or international, focus the eye of voters on the presidential capacity to solve endemical problems such as public health, education or lobbies, id est, onthologically unsolvable issues which make that president look as unsubstantial.
This has happened to Obama. Trump unfortunately won't have that burden, as he will create the conflicts himself.
God help us
